The Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment component of the curriculum deals with individuals and families under stress, recognizing and understanding stress, and dealing with it. The two films belonging to this component present stressful situations arising in classrooms and suggest coping strategies.
After working at a fieldsite for three months, Bobby, a teenager runs into difficulty trying to help a shy young boy. Students can see both sides of the situation, and discuss why they think Bobby had a hard time helping the child. Later in the film, Bobby discusses the situation with his classmates, who offer their perspectives on what went wrong and why. (8 minutes, color)
