Rachel at Home
Each of the Children at Home films centers on a four year-old at home, during a mealtime. By viewing at least four of these films, people can begin to appreciate the diversity of values, customs, and caregiving styles to be found among American families. This perspective helps them to understand the diversity among children at their fieldsite, and also to gain insight into how their families influence their behavior.
This is a white, urban, professional family. Four-year-old Rachel has a baby sister, Jenny. (11 minutes, B/W)
